Sleep apnea is more common in people with Down syndrome and occurs when there are pauses in a person’s breathing while sleeping. One of the treatments for sleep apnea is using a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine to make sure that oxygen gets to a person’s lungs when sleeping. In this video, Erika and Mitchell explain how to use a CPAP machine.

The Down Syndrome Resource Foundation in Canada also has a CPAP Demonstration video. The demonstration begins at 02:45.
