CARE Down Syndrome

CARE Down Syndrome is a free clinical education and resource hub designed to support healthcare professionals who provide care to adults with Down syndrome.

It was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in partnership with more than 40 national experts, including Brian Chicoine, MD, Hannah Graham, MD, and Katie Frank, PhD, OTR/L, from our clinic.

The website includes an accredited, two-hour, self-paced eLearning course that provides practical strategies for managing the unique healthcare needs of adults with Down syndrome and reference articles on a range of topics related to health of adults with Down syndrome.

Healthcare professionals can earn free continuing education for taking the course and/or reviewing the reference articles.

Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group (DSMIG-USA®)  

DSMIG-USA® is an association of healthcare professionals dedicated to the physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being of people with Down syndrome.

The organization is comprised of people with diverse specialty backgrounds including physicians, nurses, psychologists, therapists (PT, OT, SLP), clinic coordinators, researchers, and other related Down syndrome health professionals. 

The organization offers free educational resources to everyone, regardless of membership in the organization.

GLOBAL Medical Care Guidelines

The GLOBAL Medical Care Guidelines for Adults with Down Syndrome support professionals providing care to people with Down syndrome. 

This valuable information is a critical tool in primary care settings, helping to expand evaluation and care beyond standard criteria such as age, gender, clinical symptoms, risk factors, or comorbidities.
