Support groups for caregivers of individuals with Down syndrome and Alzheimer's disease
Alzheimer’s disease not only impacts the individual with the disease but also the individual’s family, friends, and caregivers. Several organizations provide in-person, online, and Facebook support groups for caregivers of individuals with Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease.

A private Facebook group moderated by the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin. Must submit a request and answer a few questions to join the group.

The Workgroup provides several resources including a virtual support group and Facebook group.

Local Down Syndrome Organizations

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation and National Down Syndrome Congress maintain lists of Down syndrome organizations by state. Local groups may offer support groups or be able to connect families to local resources.

The Alzheimer’s Association has local chapters throughout the United States that can connect families to in-person and virtual support groups as well as other available resources. They also have a 24/7 hotline: 800-272-3900.
