Rules for Social Media Use

- I should have ONE account per social media platform.
- Account settings should be private.
- Location settings should be turned OFF on all apps.
- If I would not show it in public, I should not share it online.
- That means I should not share personal, private information or show private body parts.
- Once I post something online, I can’t take it back, even if I delete it.
- If I would not say something to another person’s face, I should not post it online.
- That means I do not say mean things about someone or something.
- That means I do not talk to people I do not know.
- I should check my background when posting online.
- Backgrounds should not show too much of private spaces like my room, house, school, or location.
- I should not share something embarrassing about myself or someone else.
- I should not post too many times per day. Some people recommend sharing no more than 1 time per day.
- I should avoid Facebook quizzes. Facebook quizzes sometimes ask for private information.
- I should not accept a friend request from someone I do not know.
- I should not ask someone I do not know to be my friend.
