
The Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group-USA offers several options to support health professionals who provide care for individuals with Down syndrome. DSMIG-USA is a group of health professionals committed to promoting the optimal health care and wellness of individuals with Down syndrome across the lifespan. Members include physicians, scientists, psychologists, nurses, genetic counselors, therapists, clinic coordinators, and health professionals from a variety of disciplines.
Live and recorded webinars on the care of children and adults with Down syndrome. Continuing education credit is available at no cost. Topics have included Down Syndrome 101, Adult Healthcare Guidelines, Behavior Strategies, Pediatric Healthcare Guidelines, and Regression.
Monthly virtual meeting during which a health professional seeking support presents a de-identified case study. All attendees in the session are invited to participate in a discussion of the case. Providers with significant experience in caring for people with Down syndrome also participate. A didactic session is presented. Continuing education credit is available at no cost.
