  • In 2018, the population of people with Down syndrome in the United States was estimated to be 220,186.

Europe Fact Sheet

  • For the years 2011-2015, it is estimated that 1 in 990 liveborn babies had Down syndrome (10.1 per 10,000).
  • In 2015, the population of people with Down syndrome in Europe was estimated to be about 419,000 with about 260,000 being adults (age 20 and older).

Australia Fact Sheet

  • For the years 2016-2020, it is estimated that 1 in 1,158 liveborn babies had Down syndrome (8.6 per 10,000).
  • In 2020, the population of people with Down syndrome living in Australia was estimated to be about 13,426.

New Zealand Fact Sheet
